How to Remove a Password from a PDF in Google Drive
Google Drive stores password-protected PDFs but has no built-in way to remove the password. The simplest route is to unlock a downloaded copy and upload it back.
A faster way that keeps everything

The built-in way
- In Google Drive, right-click the PDF and choose Download.
- Unlock the downloaded file with the tool below (or Chrome's Print › Save as PDF).
- Drag the unlocked copy back into Google Drive.
- Optional: delete the protected original from Drive so you don't mix them up.

- Third-party Drive add-ons that remove passwords send your file to their own servers. Check their privacy policy first.
- Converting the PDF to a Google Doc removes the password but also changes the layout.
